The signature is shown at. www.hokusai-katsushika.org and means HOKUSAI GAKYOJIN meaning “Man Crazy about Drawing”

It is known, that HOKUSAI as a successful artist, was running a studio where his daughter Ōi (active from 1825-1860) and some more relatives and students where integrated in the working process. Supervised by HOKUSAI.
